KI für Senioren
Understand AI, bring memories to life: together with Pro Senectute, we show seniors over two days how to use ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Swiss AI safely — clear, patient, and entirely jargon-free.
The starting point
'I'm too old for this technology' — we hear it often. The opposite is true: with the right guidance, seniors benefit most from AI — for writing letters, doing research, and capturing memories.
Together with Pro Senectute, we're building a workshop that starts exactly there: calm, patient, in large type, and free of jargon. On 11 and 12 June 2026, participants learn step by step how to use ChatGPT & co. safely and confidently in everyday life.
What we did
AI and ChatGPT, simply explained
No jargon: what artificial intelligence is, where it already helps in daily life (rail apps, search, translation) — and why no one is too old for it. 'Like a clever neighbour who always has an answer.'
Step by step on your own device
Sign-up, first conversation, asking good questions. Letters to the health insurer, recipes, trip planning, gift ideas — practised on each participant's own phone, tablet, or computer.
Perplexity and image recognition
Finding clear answers with sources using Perplexity. Recognising plants, text, and products with Google Lens. The CRAP test for checking sources and spotting fake news.
Data protection with LUMO & EURIA
Swiss AI assistants for sensitive matters: LUMO (Proton) and EURIA (Infomaniak). Your data stays in Switzerland — explained like two digital butlers.
Spot scams, protect your data
Strong passwords, two-factor protection, recognising suspicious emails, unmasking AI images. Plus the key Swiss phone numbers for help in an emergency.
Methodology
Eye level, no jargon
Large type, calm pace, every term in everyday language. 'You're not too old' isn't a slogan — it's the stance of the whole workshop.
Practise on your own device
Not watching but doing: everyone works on their own phone, tablet, or computer — step by step, with time for questions.
Safety first
Data protection, scam protection, and Swiss alternatives aren't an appendix but the thread running through it all. Trust comes before pace.
